I co-curated the exhibition “Offset” that was organised in collaboration with NID and was dedicated to Estonian jewellery design as part of the Paris Design Week 2017. My part lay in selection and communication with artists participated. The vernissage happened on 10th of September at Galerie Résidences.
NID participated in Paris Design Week for the third time. 2017 year’s theme was jewellery, because it has emerged over the recent years as one of the strongest and most distinctive areas in the Estonian design landscape. Exhibition “Offset” introduced 6 artists, who use new and unexpected materials in their work, some of the examples include mushrooms, euro coins, sponges and old crystal vases, amongst others.
Participating designers:
Sille Luiga, Merlin Meremaa, Maarja Niinemägi, Darja Popolitova, Kairi Sirendi, Tanel Veenre.
Sponsors: Ministry of Culture of Estonia, Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Estonian Embassy in Paris, ÖselBirch, Viru Õlu
