This sculptural object depicts an enchanted foot wearing a smiley signet ring, placed on a pedestal. The artwork belongs to the world of Seraphita — a fictional E-guru and vlogger-witch who appears in my artistic practice. Through her, I explore new roles for jewellery and its ability to address broader social and cultural topics.

The silver ring, for instance, originates from my 2021 solo exhibition. In the accompanying video, the witch-master Seraphita raises questions about authorship in the digital age: Who counts as a master today — a trained academic or an online vlogger-witch? Is a video tutorial by an E-guru a legitimate form of knowledge?

Jewellery, an ancient art form rooted in embodied (haptic) knowledge, can now exist online as downloadable 3D files from stock platforms. A ring modelled in a 3D program can be shared, printed, and worn by anyone. In this way, embodied knowledge travels through screens, and the master becomes a hybrid of teacher, influencer, and digital magician.
